Launched in 2025, we are a locally owned and operated business that collaborates closely with local guides and the Bukit Lawang community. Our vision is simple: to provide travelers with unforgettable jungle adventures while supporting conservation efforts and empowering local people.
We believe that eco-tourism is a powerful way to protect the natural beauty and biodiversity of the Gunung Leuser National Park. This park is one of the world’s most biodiverse rainforests and a vital habitat for the endangered Sumatran orangutans. Particularly, of the importance of conservation and the role we all play in preserving this unique environment.

Meet Your Local Guide, Tondi
Welcome to Sumatra Tour Adventures! My name is Tondi, and I am the founder and a trekking guide based in Bukit Lawang, Sumatra. With over five years of experience guiding visitors through the rainforest, I am passionate about sharing the beauty of Gunung Leuser National Park and its incredible wildlife. I am also a photographer, so I love helping guests capture the special moments of their jungle adventure. Together with my local team, I aim to provide safe, authentic, and memorable trekking experiences while respecting the rainforest and its wildlife.

We are a 100% locally owned and operated company, and we believe in leading by example. Our guides are from Bukit Lawang and surrounding villages. We invest directly in local training, fair wages, and eco-conscious practices. Every trek with us helps strengthen the local economy and encourages the younger generation to value and protect their natural heritage.
Our treks follow strict Leave No Trace principles, and we actively collaborate with conservation groups to reduce environmental impact. Especially in protecting endangered species like the Sumatran orangutan. We envision a future where tourism is not only an adventure, but a force for good.
