Welcome to my page ! My name is Tondi a trekking guide in Bukit Lawang and I am the founder of Sumatra Tour Adventures. Apart from being a trekking guide, I am also Photographer. With over five years of experiences as a Jungle Trekking Guide in the stunning rainforests of Bukit Lawang, I am deeply passionate about sharing the beauty of the Sumatran jungle with visitors from around the world.

La miglior esperienza al parco Bukit Lawang Esperienza fantastica nella giungla di Bukit Lawang! Abbiamo fatto un trekking di 3 giorni e 2 notti con Sumatra Tour Adventures e non potevamo chiedere di meglio. Un ringraziamento speciale a Tondi, che è stato super gentile, professionale, disponibile e anche molto simpatico per tutta la durata del trekking. Great Adventure and Fun The guided Jungle Tour was great. We spent one night camping and two days filled with adventures. Rafting, Hiking, watching monkeys and enjoying tasty food in the rainforest. Our guides Andre and Habibi gave their very best for our experience and enabled us to see Orang-Utans from close up. Their English is good and they are very open to talk during the time there. They made sure we were safe and always had a good time. A lot of laughs and nice moments were shared with them. I can recommend this experience to everyone and also directly suggest to book with this company as they always showed a lot of interest in us and really wanted us to have the best possible experience. With the local experience of our guides we were very happy. So I wish many more people an incredible experience like we had.

2-day, 1-night jungle trek - Highly recommended We had an amazing experience trekking in the jungle of Bukit Lawang with Sumatra Tour Adventures, and we would absolutely recommend Tondi and his team. From the very beginning, communication with Tondi, the owner of the company, was excellent. He was always kind, responsive and helpful, organized both our transfers from and back to Medan Airport, and provided us with all the information we needed before our arrival. After spending our first night at the guesthouse he recommended, we left the following morning for a 2-day, 1-night jungle trek. Throughout the trek, we were accompanied by experienced and knowledgeable guides who did their very best to show us the incredible wildlife of the Gunung Leuser ecosystem. We were lucky enough to see orangutans, different species of monkeys, macaques and many other animals along the way. The food was another highlight. The meals prepared by the guides were generous, fresh and made with great care. At the end of the first day, after several hours of trekking (be prepared to sweat!) we reached our basecamp right beside the river. Being able to cool down in the water surrounded by the jungle after such a long day was absolutely wonderful. Spending the night there, completely immersed in nature, made the experience even more special. The following morning, we woke up early to continue exploring the jungle before eventually reaching the river. The adventure ended in the best possible way: tubing back towards Bukit Lawang on large inflatable tubes, guided by the team almost like a very safe rafting experience. Such a fun way to finish the trek! What we appreciated most, however, was the team’s attitude towards the jungle and its wildlife. You can genuinely see how much they love and respect this environment. The animals are observed in their natural habitat without being fed or approached simply for the sake of tourists getting closer or taking pictures. The guides know the forest incredibly well and allow encounters with wildlife to happen as naturally and respectfully as possible. A beautiful, authentic and unforgettable experience. Best experience ever: Jungle trek with Tondi Very cool and fun experience to do! The jungle trek gave me the opportunity to see many monkeys and the famous orangoutan! I highly recommend asking for Tondi as your guide. This guide is the best! He’s very friendly and funny, he has a lot of experience in the domain and a lot of knowledge about the jungle and the nature. He has very good english too. Una experiencia que sin duda volveremos a repetir Encontré a Sumatra Tour Adventures de casualidad en Instagram y desde el primer momento supe que quería hacer con ellos el trekking de 3 días y 2 noches. Tondi, quien lo gestiona absolutamente todo, nos facilitó toda la información y nos ayudó incluso a organizar el transporte desde el aeropuerto de Medan y el alojamiento en Bukit Lawang. Al día siguiente nos adentramos en la jungla junto a nuestros guías, Zuhri y Habib, y otros cuatro viajeros. Durante los tres días recorrimos unos 15 km de selva, disfrutando de una fauna increíble: orangutanes, gibones, monos Thomas, pig-tailed, alguna que otra serpiente, así como algun lagarto. Dormimos en campamentos básicos junto al río, rodeados completamente de naturaleza. Cabañas sencillas, colchón, manta y mosquitera: hay que recordar que estan en plena jungla, habrá insectos y fauna salvaje. La comida fue otro de los grandes descubrimientos: fruta fresca durante los trekkings y auténticos festines preparados por el equipo en los campamentos. Y después de caminar, nada mejor que un té o café con galletas junto al río. Pero el último día fue, sin duda, la guinda del pastel: vimos un grupo de hasta 6 orangutanes, incluido un macho alfa enorme. Y para volver, hicimos rafting por el río hasta Bukit Lawang, muy muy divertido. Sin duda alguna, se trata de una experiencia increíble y muy recomendable para cualquiera que visite Sumatra. Amazing experience with Sumatra tour adventures! I absolutely recommend Sumatra Tour Adventures to anyone who wants to have an authentic and fun experience in the jungle, while feeling completely safe. Our guides, Tondi and Abibi, were extremely attentive to our needs. They gave us more time when we wanted to observe the orangutans and Thomas leaf monkeys, allowed us to take a break whenever we needed, and also took us to less touristy areas where we were able to see other, less common types of monkeys. We immediately felt like part of the family, and the whole experience was so much fun — the time just flew by! We had a delicious and generous lunch prepared by them, and then we returned to the base camp down the river by rafting on inflatable boats, guided by the legendary Raul! If we ever come back to Bukit Lawang, we will definitely do this experience again — and for more than one day! And of course, we will choose Sumatra Tour Adventures again!

Tondi ci ha assistito con grande disponibilità già prima del nostro arrivo a Bukit Lawang e, insieme ad Habibi, si è rivelato una guida formidabile. Sono entrambi del posto, conoscono la giungla alla perfezione e sanno raccontarla con passione, facendone scoprire gli aspetti più affascinanti e meno evidenti. Une expérience unique et inoubliable au cœur de la jungle Cette expérience dans la jungle restera l’un des plus beaux souvenirs de notre voyage à Sumatra. Partir à pied à la rencontre des orangs-outans, mais aussi d’autres primates, au cœur d’une nature exceptionnelle, est tout simplement magique. Nous avons eu la chance d’avoir une prestation privée, puisque nous étions seulement deux avec deux guides, Darwan et Fahri. We did the 2D1N Jungle Trek with an 8year old child. Tondi helped us organize EVERYTHING. From the accomodation, airport transport to even laundry service. Tondi and Habibi did the Trek with us an we could not wish for better company. The two of them are not only the nicest people but also have so much knowledge of the Jungle. We got to see many orang utans and lots of other animals. We felt safe at every second of the trek. The food in the jungle was also so amazing - we loved it. Rafting back in the river with Tondi and Habibi was also a highlight of the trip. We met as strangers but left as jungle family as Tondi calls it. The guided Jungle Tour was great. We spent one night camping and two days filled with adventures. Rafting, Hiking, watching monkeys and enjoying tasty food in the rainforest. Our guides Andre and Habibi gave their very best for our experience and enabled us to see Orang-Utans from close up. Their English is good and they are very open to talk during the time there. They made sure we were safe and always had a good time. A lot of laughs and nice moments were shared with them. I can recommend this experience to everyone and also directly suggest to book with this company as they always showed a lot of interest in us and really wanted us to have the best possible experience. With the local experience of our guides we were very happy. So I wish many more people an incredible experience like we had.

We had an amazing experience trekking in the jungle of Bukit Lawang with Sumatra Tour Adventures, and we would absolutely recommend Tondi and his team. From the very beginning, communication with Tondi, the owner of the company, was excellent. He was always kind, responsive and helpful, organized both our transfers from and back to Medan Airport, and provided us with all the information we needed before our arrival. After spending our first night at the guesthouse he recommended, we left the following morning for a 2-day, 1-night jungle trek. Throughout the trek, we were accompanied by experienced and knowledgeable guides who did their very best to show us the incredible wildlife of the Gunung Leuser ecosystem. We were lucky enough to see orangutans, different species of monkeys, macaques and many other animals along the way. The food was another highlight. The meals prepared by the guides were generous, fresh and made with great care. At the end of the first day, after several hours of trekking (be prepared to sweat!) we reached our basecamp right beside the river. Being able to cool down in the water surrounded by the jungle after such a long day was absolutely wonderful. Spending the night there, completely immersed in nature, made the experience even more special. The following morning, we woke up early to continue exploring the jungle before eventually reaching the river. The adventure ended in the best possible way: tubing back towards Bukit Lawang on large inflatable tubes, guided by the team almost like a very safe rafting experience. Such a fun way to finish the trek! What we appreciated most, however, was the team’s attitude towards the jungle and its wildlife. You can genuinely see how much they love and respect this environment. The animals are observed in their natural habitat without being fed or approached simply for the sake of tourists getting closer or taking pictures. The guides know the forest incredibly well and allow encounters with wildlife to happen as naturally and respectfully as possible. A beautiful, authentic and unforgettable experience. Thank you Tondi, Ucok, Habibi, Barjan for taking such good care of us and for sharing your love for the jungle with us. Highly recommended

Nous avons fait le trek 2 jours / 1 nuit dans la jungle de Bukit Lawang et c’était l’un des meilleurs moments de notre voyage. Nous avons eu la chance d’avoir une expérience privée, avec 2 guides pour seulement 2 personnes, ce qui a rendu le trek beaucoup plus agréable et immersif. J’ai été vraiment surpris par le nombre d’animaux rencontrés pendant ces deux jours, et surtout par la variété des espèces observées. Nous avons vu plusieurs orangs-outans, dont un bébé, ainsi que différentes espèces de singes, tout en passant deux jours au cœur de la jungle et une nuit près de la rivière. Le parcours est superbe et permet de profiter pleinement de la forêt. Les guides Darwan et Fahri étaient excellents : très sympathiques, toujours de bonne humeur, et ils ont créé une atmosphère très amicale et conviviale pendant tout le trek. Ils s’adaptent facilement au rythme du groupe, et les repas ainsi que les fruits frais étaient très appréciés. Un grand merci à Tondi pour l’organisation. Si vous allez à Bukit Lawang, c’est une expérience que je recommande sans hésiter.

I absolutely recommend Sumatra Tour Adventure to anyone who wants to have an authentic and fun experience in the jungle, while feeling completely safe. Our guides, Tondi and Abibi, were extremely attentive to our needs. They gave us more time when we wanted to observe the orangutans and Thomas leaf monkeys, allowed us to take a break whenever we needed, and also took us to less touristy areas where we were able to see other, less common types of monkeys. We immediately felt like part of the family, and the whole experience was so much fun — the time just flew by! We had a delicious and generous lunch prepared by them, and then we returned to the base camp down the river by rafting on inflatable boats, guided by the legendary Raul! If we ever come back to Bukit Lawang, we will definitely do this experience again — and for more than one day! And of course, we will choose Sumatra Tour Adventure again!

Non avremmo potuto fare scelta migliore per il nostro trekking nella giungla del Gunung Leuser. Tondi ci ha assistito con grande disponibilità già prima del nostro arrivo a Bukit Lawang e, insieme ad Habibi, si è rivelato una guida formidabile. Sono entrambi del posto, conoscono la giungla alla perfezione e sanno raccontarla con passione, facendone scoprire gli aspetti più affascinanti e meno evidenti. Ma ciò che abbiamo apprezzato ancora di più è il profondo amore che nutrono per questo luogo e il grande rispetto con cui lo vivono e lo fanno conoscere. Ci hanno accompagnato nella giungla con competenza, attenzione e sensibilità, permettendoci di vivere un’esperienza autentica e indimenticabile. Non sono poi mancate delle grandi risate! La loro simpatia e il loro entusiasmo hanno reso questa giornata ancora più speciale. P.S. Il pranzo che ci hanno preparato era semplicemente delizioso. E per finire, frutta tropicale in quantità!!

Abbiamo scelto il Jungle Trek 4D3N ed è stato magico. Tondi, il proprietario, si è occupato di organizzare tutto in maniera ottima, a partire dal nostro arrivo a Bukit Lawang, offrendoci un ottimo transfer diretto dall’aeroporto di Medan e la stanza per la notte prima del tour. Abbiamo esplorato la giungla insieme al ranger Guhri, Habibi e Barzan, che ci hanno accompagnato trekking dopo trekking alla ricerca degli Oranghi e si sono occupati di preparare i campi per la notte e tutti i pasti. È stata davvero un’esperienza magica, sia per l’atmosfera della giungla e la bellezza degli animali incontrati, Oranghi su tutti, ma anche e soprattutto per l’ottimo lavoro del gruppo di Sumatra Tour Adventures. Consiglio assolutamente di scegliere Sumatra Tour Adventure per vivere un’avventura perfetta, e soprattutto ripartire sapendo di aver trovato delle persone speciali.

Abbiamo scelto Sumatra Tour Adventures e Tondi per il trekking 4D/3N nel parco del gunung leuser e non avremmo potuto fare scelta migliore. Abbiamo trascorso delle giornate indimenticabili, Juhri e Habibi ci hanno supportato e guidato con professionalità nelle giornate di trekking e Barzan ci ha deliziato con la sua cucina deliziosa. Abbiamo avvistato tantissimi animali, ma la cosa che mi rimarrà per sempre sono i momenti condivisi con tutti loro. Per tutte le esperienze a Bukit lawang e dintorni credo sia difficile trovare una compagnia , soprattutto locale, migliore di Sumatra Tour adventures e di Tondi! Ci hanno coccolati dal primo istante e hanno reso questi 4 giorni nella giungla di Sumatra unici, un ricordo che porterò con me per sempre!
