Itinerary
After breakfast, your guide will meet you at your hotel or guesthouse around 9:00 AM, ready to begin an exciting day.
Your trek starts with a 30-minute walk along the Bohorok River, heading downstream. You’ll pass through the village center, where you can explore local shops before continuing.
Next, cross the village and venture into the lush greenery, entering the jungle and passing rubber and oil palm plantations. Your guide will explain the significance of these plantations and point out various fruits, plants, and wildlife along the way.
After your walk, you’ll arrive at the Bat Cave. Here, your guide will provide a flashlight as you explore the three chambers filled with stalactites and stalagmites. You may encounter bats, swallows, and even snakes or spiders. Note: This part of the tour isn’t recommended for those who are claustrophobic.
After exploring the cave, enjoy a leisurely 30-minute walk through the palm oil plantations, appreciating the peaceful surroundings as you leave the Bat Cave.
On your return journey, you’ll enjoy the jungle’s calming beauty. Finally, you’ll head back to Bukit Lawang, with the tour concluding at your guesthouse around 12:30 PM, leaving you with a day full of unforgettable memories.
