Tondi is very professional but also fun and has a lot of knowledge. He is very committed and loves the area and his job and it shows. We were lucky to see many orangutans, monkeys, and several other animals typical of the area. Tondi was incredible-he helped to find last-minute accommodation after the original booking was cancelled, even though the trekking was not arranged through them. He also took care of all the transport arrangements to and from Bukit Lawang, which made everything much easier. The guides on the trek were mindful, helpful, and very friendly. They were very well prepared and always made sure we had everything we needed. The food was amazing, fresh fruit every day, and they constantly checked that we were okay and comfortable. I always felt safe and well looked after. The experience itself was real and immersive. Not touristy, just the jungle, nature, and the simple beauty of being there. My husband and I did the two-day, one-night trek with Sumatra Tour Adventures, and it truly exceeded all of our expectations. We were incredibly lucky to see five orangutans, and other monkey species which made the experience even more special. Our guides, Tondi and Habibi, were outstanding—attentive, kind, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They always made sure we had the best possible views for photos while following safety procedures. Tondi was especially knowledgeable, sharing fascinating information about the orangutans, jungle trees, insects, and traditional uses of plants. No matter what we asked, he always had an answer. They also helped arrange our accomadation and transfers to and from the airport, which made the entire experience completely seamless and stress-free. Watching other groups along the trek really confirmed how fortunate we were—we truly had the best guides. The food was another highlight; it was shockingly delicious for a jungle trek and far exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much for such an unforgettable experience. Een fantastische dag gehad in Bukit Lawang met Tondi & Risky. We werden op tijd opgehaald bij ons Hotel in Medan. Een ervaren chauffeur. Toen we de auto uitstapten werden wij direct hartelijk ontvangen door onze gidsen. We hadden een privétour (moeder en dochter) door de jungle. Al snel konden we een Orang oetan spotten. De gidsen zorgen dat je de beste plek krijgt om mooie foto’s en video’s te maken. Tondi & Risky deden er alles aan om er een geslaagde dag van te maken. Ze waren erg zorgzaam en hielpen je over de soms wat lastig en modderige paadjes. Er werd vrolijk gezongen en veel lachen tijdens de wandeling. Vele soorten apen gespot onderweg en nog een kleine Orang Oetan en een mannetje mogen zien. Heel gaaf! Kom vooral vroeg in de ochtend rond 7uur ‘s morgens zijn de Orang oetans het meest actief. Byliśmy na jednodniowym trekingu w dżungli. Odbiór z hotelu o ustalonej godzinie, dojazd komfortowym autem a później trekking z przewodnikami w dżungli. Przewodnicy bardzo się starają żeby znaleźć jak najwięcej zwierząt. Dobrze mówią po angielsku. Dzięki ich zaangażowaniu udało się spotkać orangutana. W trakcie powrotu z dżungli pyszny obiad i duża ilość świeżych owoców. Ik heb samen met mijn broer de 2 dagen jungle trek gedaan met Tondi & Habibi. Toen we in Bukit Lawang aankwamen hadden we lichte twijfels. We hadden die dag erna afgesproken met Tondi om alles door te bespreken over de trek. Hij gaf ons een fijn/ vertrouwd gevoel & legde alles goed uit! We konden alles vragen & maakte grapjes! Hierdoor waren onze twijfels ook weg. De dag van de trekking haalde Tondi & Habibi ons op bij ons verblijf. We liepen samen richting de jungle & de trek was begonnen. De sfeer was erg goed & Tondi kan goed Engels waardoor hij veel kon vertellen over de jungle. Hij liet ook allemaal dingen zien & vertelde daarover zoals de bomen die rubber & wierrook produceren. Sumatra tour adventures staat echt voor het milieu & de dieren. Dit betekend dat ze de tour op de natuur aanpassen, geen afval of fruit laten liggen in de jungle. Wat mij ook opviel is dat de jongens het afval van andere mensen opruimde zodat dit niet in de natuur bleef liggen. Ze voeren de dieren ook niet en laten ze echt in hun eigen waarde. Dit zijn wel 2 dingen die ik erg belangrijk vond. Ook steunen ze de locals & gaat al het verdiende geld naar hun & de locals. Er zit geen grote organisatie achter uit bijv Europa waar het geld naartoe gaat. Wij hadden aangegeven dat we het liefst Aqua water willen tijdens de trek, want ze gebruiken boiled water. De jongens hebben al hun Aqua water voor ons mee genomen zodat wij 2 dagen aqua water konden drinken. Tijdens de gehele 2 dagen wilde ze dat wij op ons gemak waren & paste ze alles aan op onze conditie & wat wij graag wilde, alles was mogelijk! We hebben echt een super fijne jungle trek gehad door deze 2 jongens!
